Our Story
Styled by STEM was founded on one simple belief: every girl deserves the opportunity to discover her potential through STEM.
Growing up, our founder saw firsthand that many young girls—especially those from underserved and underrepresented communities—were filled with talent, creativity, and curiosity but lacked access to meaningful STEM opportunities, positive role models, and hands-on learning experiences. Too often, they never had the chance to see themselves as scientists, engineers, veterinarians, programmers, marine biologists, doctors, environmentalists, or innovators.
As an educator and lifelong science enthusiast, Gershyia Inman witnessed this same need in classrooms and community programs. She saw students who simply needed someone to believe in them, expose them to new possibilities, and create an environment where learning felt exciting, welcoming, and empowering.
Styled by STEM was created to bridge that gap.
More than an educational program, Styled by STEM is a community where girls are encouraged to ask questions, solve problems, explore their passions, and build confidence while developing real-world STEM skills. Through engaging lessons, mentorship, leadership opportunities, field experiences, community service, technology, engineering, environmental science, and college and career readiness, we are preparing the next generation of women who will lead, innovate, and make lasting impacts in their communities.
Our goal is not only to teach STEM—it is to help girls discover who they are, believe in who they can become, and recognize that there is a place for them in every STEM field.

Styled by STEM empowers girls from VPK through 12th grade by providing engaging STEM education, mentorship, leadership development, and real-world learning experiences in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment. Through hands-on exploration, meaningful community partnerships, and innovative programming, we inspire the next generation of confident young women who are prepared to lead, create, and thrive in STEM careers and beyond.

Meet the Founder
Gershyia Inman is the Founder and President of Styled by STEM, a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring, educating, and empowering the next generation of girls through science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and Sustainable Aquaculture, Gershyia combines her passion for science, environmental stewardship, education, and youth development to create transformative learning experiences that prepare girls for successful futures.
Throughout her career, she has served as a Lead Kindergarten Teacher, youth educator, STEM instructor, environmental education intern, and mentor, working with students across multiple grade levels. Her dedication to education and student success earned her recognition as Teacher of the Year (2024–2025) at the Gifford Youth Achievement Center.
Inspired by the belief that every girl deserves the opportunity to explore STEM regardless of her background, Gershyia founded Styled by STEM to provide mentorship, hands-on learning, leadership development, and meaningful opportunities that encourage girls to dream bigger than they ever imagined.
Her vision is to build an organization that empowers thousands of young women to become scientists, engineers, environmental leaders, physicians, veterinarians, programmers, innovators, educators, and changemakers.

No. Our programs welcome girls of all experience levels.
