Where Future Women in STEM Are Made
Styled by STEM gives girls from VPK through 12th grade opportunities to explore, create, lead, and thrive. Our current program portfolio combines hands-on STEM education with academic support, mentorship, leadership, field experiences, career exploration, community service, creativity, and outdoor discovery.
Programs may be offered year-round, seasonally, as special events, or in partnership with schools and community organizations. Availability, age groups, dates, and locations vary.

A 12-week, hands-on environmental STEM experience designed and led by Styled by STEM in collaboration with the Environmental Learning Center. Girls learn like scientists, engineers, and environmental stewards while exploring the Indian River Lagoon and ELC campus.
Dates: October 4–December 20, 2026
Time: Sundays, 1:00–3:00 p.m.
Grades/Ages: Grades 5–8, ages 10–14
Location: Environmental Learning Center, Vero Beach
Cost: $20 per Sunday
Week 1: Meet the Lagoon Scientists, safety, and baseline observations. Week 2: Water chemistry and water-quality testing. Week 3: Buoyancy, boats, waves, and currents. Week 4: Wildlife, habitats, animal adaptations, and ecosystem health.
Week 5: Plankton and lagoon food webs. Week 6: Guided kayak field investigation. Week 7: Pontoon-boat biodiversity investigation. Week 8: Wildlife health, habitat observation, and environmental stewardship.
Week 9: Design sustainable aquaculture systems. Week 10: Study mangroves and native plants. Week 11: Create solutions to local environmental challenges. Week 12: Present a final research, engineering, or stewardship project at the mini-showcase.
Students may use ELC’s kayaks, pontoon boat, touch tank, and field equipment for guided investigations, weather and safety permitting.
Scholarships are available for qualifying students, including families who meet free or reduced-price lunch requirements. High-school girls may register to volunteer at no cost, assist the program, and earn service hours.

This hands-on pathway connects science, engineering, agriculture, design, technology, mathematics, financial literacy, marketing, communication, and leadership. Students learn that revenue is not the same as profit by tracking materials, operating expenses, pricing, sales, and reinvestment.

A hands-on program where students design and construct poultry housing and agricultural systems, learn responsible animal husbandry, develop sustainable garden infrastructure, collect and analyze production data, and operate an age-appropriate student-led agricultural microenterprise.
Research housing needs, measure the site, create scaled designs, budget materials, and build safe nesting, roosting, ventilation, access, and predator-protection systems.
Explore filtration, reservoirs, valves, tubing, pressure, flow rates, conservation, leak detection, irrigation, pumps, timers, and sensors.
Use sensors, electronics, coding, and dashboards to monitor temperature, humidity, soil moisture, water, light, rainfall, and egg production.
Practice production, recordkeeping, food safety, packaging, branding, pricing, marketing, sales, accounting, and responsible reinvestment.

Students grow flowers through research-based horticulture, help engineer efficient growing systems, study post-harvest biology, create floral products, and develop a student-led flower business.

Lead design, automation, analysis, budgeting, marketing, customer orders, project management, and mentorship of younger students.
A student marketplace where girls can present eligible student-raised, student-grown, repaired, upcycled, designed, and photographed products—and explain the STEM behind every item.
Program development note: Animal care, construction, food handling, product sales, markets, fundraising, and field activities will be introduced only with appropriate adult supervision and in accordance with applicable safety standards, permits, organizational policies, Florida requirements, and local rules.
