Gershyia Inman is the Founder and President of Styled by STEM, a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring, educating, and empowering the next generation of girls through science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. With a passion for education, environmental science, and youth development, she created Styled by STEM to ensure that every girl—regardless of her background—has access to meaningful STEM experiences, positive mentorship, and opportunities to discover her full potential.
Science, Conservation, and Education
Gershyia is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and Sustainable Aquaculture at Unity Environmental University, building on her biology studies at Indian River State College. Her academic journey reflects a lifelong commitment to science, conservation, and environmental stewardship, which she integrates into the educational experiences offered through Styled by STEM.
Experience Serving Students and Families
Throughout her career, Gershyia has dedicated herself to serving children and families through education. She has worked as a Lead Kindergarten Teacher at Dalton Learning Academy, an educator with the Gifford Youth Achievement Center, a TRiO Upward Bound Student Worker, and a Student Intern and Researcher at the Environmental Learning Center, where she gained valuable experience in environmental education and scientific research. Her dedication to student growth and excellence earned her the Teacher of the Year (2024–2025) recognition from the Gifford Youth Achievement Center.
Why She Created Styled by STEM
Through Styled by STEM, Gershyia combines her love for science, education, and mentorship to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences that help girls build confidence, develop leadership skills, and explore future careers in STEM. From after-school programs and STEM Saturdays to summer academies, field experiences, robotics, environmental science, marine biology, engineering, coding, and college readiness, she is committed to providing opportunities that inspire curiosity and prepare young women to become future innovators, researchers, engineers, healthcare professionals, and leaders.
Her Vision
Her vision extends beyond teaching science—it is about creating a supportive community where girls are encouraged to dream boldly, embrace challenges, and recognize that they belong in every STEM field. Through meaningful partnerships with schools, families, businesses, and community organizations, Gershyia is working to build pathways that empower young women to lead with confidence, curiosity, compassion, and purpose.
